Each year we host seminars on topical Internet service provider issues called nog.fi meeting YYYY.MM. The seminars are followed by an evening of networking with top notch experts from various providers and vendors.
The meetings are free and open to anyone, even if the intended audience is Internet access and hosting providers. This has enabled us to attract experts from all over Europe and beyond. The atmosphere is casual and warm, as is the evening sauna in that finest Finnish tradition of networking events.
We will also host hackathons called "nog.fi workshop YYYY.MM." These workshops have a very tight scope and only experts willing and able to work on the subject matter are invited to the workshops.
Below is our current list of the first five nog.fi events:
So the first event in Tampere in May this year was just nog.fi because we hadn't worked out a naming convention yet. We didn't know how many and what kind of events we're going to have, so we didn't know what the needs for the naming convention will be.
Now that we know we will have two kinds of events and that we're unlikely to have more than one event per month, we've settled on this naming convention: nog.fi type year.month.
Thus, in hindsight, the first event was actually called nog.fi meeting 2019.05. URLs and stuff will be updated to reflect this soon.
FICIX hosted the next nog.fi meeting in Espoo (next to Helsinki) on Wednesday the 13th of November 2019.
