What we do (dns anycast)
Why we do it (resiliency, speed)
How we do it (nodes, architecture) and
What are the challenges (attacks, routing issues)
This presentation is looking behind the reasons why Enterprises need IXPs and how Microsoft Azure Peering Service (MAPS) does fit into this picture. In addition the key concepts of MAPS will be outlined to give an understanding why this service make sense for Enterprises, for IXPs and also ISPs and Carriers.

Enabling IPv6 on a large enterprise network sounds like a daunting
task. But turning off IPv4 and migrating such a network to IPv6-only
mode sounds like science fiction. This session tells the story of
migrating Google's enterprise network to IPv6-mostly mode, where
IPv6-only and IPv4-enabled devices co-exist on the same network.
The following topics will be covered:
Motivation: Why disable IPv4? Benefits of IPv6 and IPv6-mostly.
Technical details: What is IPv6-mostly mode, and how to enable it. The
key elements and technologies will be explained, covering both the
networking infrastructure and endpoints perspective.
What went wrong and what went well: Challenges and issues encountered,
resolved and still pending resolution.
Next steps: Further plans to reduce IPv4 footprints.
Current email best practises for sending, intermediaries/forwarding and receiving emails, and the finally happening move towards better "email authentication" standards.
Today's challenges in managing and supporting email services and keeping up with email problems.
Look at the top problems from spam, authentication, misconceptions, phishing to the role of the big players.
This presentation explores the fundamentals of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems, focusing on short-distance communication. It covers the basics of WDM, the efficiency of DWDM in short-range networks, and the advantages of using coherent modules for enhanced signal integrity and extended reach.
Additionally, we will discuss "grey" transceivers that are interoperable across 100G, 400G, and 800G technologies, highlighting their versatility and future integration potential.

Working with the DNS technical community, we’ve identified and documented a set of best practices that are essential for a secure DNS ecosystem, and that both small and big operators can easily implement.
This talk gives an overview of what happened / is happening / will happen around RIPE Atlas, highlighting some interesting use cases for network operators.
Peering introductions and elevator pitches.
RIPE Access, the authentication service around RIPE NCC services, plans to mandates the use of two factor authentication from around April 2024. This talk touches on what this means for LIRs / RIPE NCC members.
EPF is in Vienna this year on 16 - 18 September.
this is a quick information on peering with Google on IXPs
In case you don't have enough serious lightning talks, I could do a quick one about #badgelife i.e. the art of designing and making hardware badge art. Can do in min about 5 mins or whatever time is available, have some slides with photos and short videos. Have my own design electronic badge with me, so people could see something live.
Presentation contains some examples and stories from Defcon 31 and few photos of my own designed badge.
